Frustrated setting up WIFI

Post by Saltydogg »

Following steps listed in wifi tutorial but it's nit working. I select com port used for other RA uploads, select Baud rate 9600, click connect, apply basic settings, click ok after baud rate is updated to reconnect. I then enter Auth Mode 0 (open) and I verified under wireless settings that's what being used, I enter my said "PhillyB" I do not have a passcode as I am not encrypted, I then enter the recommended local port as 2000, click save settings and......nothing. Light still blinks both green and blue as it has since p,utter into the data cable. In addition no command lines appear in the output window? What could be going wrong????

"Open" authentication doesn't require passphrase. How do you have one?
Also, I've never tried "open" and it is actually very unsecure to run your wifi without encryption.
Would you like to try setting it to WPA2-PSK authentication with AES encryption?

Actually, I just read the datasheet and open authentication can only be used on adhoc networks and if you are using a router, you are not using adhoc.

I have no idea what the heck is going on but it is strange. I cannot access the setting for the router I am currently using so I cant even apply a passcode making my wireless become ecrypted so.....I am purchasing a new Router Modem today and will install with passcode and start over fresh. Ill keep you posted if I still have issues. Thanks Roberto for your help!!

Little unsure exactly what you are saying is wrong with your router but if you can't log into it try reseting back to your defaults. No need to buy another router just cause you can't log in.
