Post by deva »

I might be dreaming here but how hard would it be for some of you more tech savvy guys to come up with a ramp-able/controllable 0-10V pump?

I built my own a while back. Trust me when I say its better to just spend the money.

But if your interested... here is a video of it running a wavebox...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9JiFR-H3Sw

I made that pump from scratch, including the plastic mold, the windings, and most all of the other parts other then the impeller... I had way too much time on my hands back then...

It actually only cost me about 50 bucks in materials to make the pump. It does roughly 1200gph. Problem is that you need a fair amount of equipment and a good amount of electronics knowledge to pull it off. I actually still have it somewhere and it works just fine. If I included the time it took me I could have worked at MacDonalds and got a pair of Vortechs in the same time frame...

Thanks :)

They make more money off the non controllable versions. It doesn't make sense to invest money into new equipment to make a product that will sell less and make less profits.

Some companies care more about their customers then the bottom line. A happy loyal customer is worth the same as 10 random buys buy some CEOs don't understand this.
