Re: Application for Blackberry
hmm, I have never even looked at it. Didn't think anyone actually still used a BB
Curt might be able to do something using the Android app and https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/

Re: Application for Blackberry

Re: Application for Blackberry
Jajajaja, the best you can do is get rid of the BB, jajajajajaja, i change mine on november for a galaxy S2, and don't miss a thing, i didn't like the touch screen either but now i'm get use to it.
Re: Application for Blackberry
I'll take a look at that and see what all is involved. We "might" be able to get a BB app for use as well.

Dont know about your place but yeah majority is still using here & are quite satisfied with their performance specially push mails & enterprises services.
Re: Application for Blackberry
I'm not against Blackberry or anything. I actually like the keyboard. I can never get used to typing on the touch screen. That's why my Android has a slide out keyboard
But I always wondered which enterprise services that would make such difference...
I do have push mails on an exchange server. Most of the time I get email notifications on my phone prior to getting any on my desktop.

Re: Application for Blackberry
What blackberry do you have? I want to test it on your specific model.
Re: Application for Blackberry
Thanks Curt. I have Blackberry Playbook 64 GB & Blackberry Bold 9780binder wrote:What blackberry do you have? I want to test it on your specific model.
Re: Application for Blackberry
I just tested things out on the Playbook simulator and it's not working well at all. When the app started up, it changed the screen orientation and I could hardly use it. Once I configured the app settings, when I start up the app, it flashes the screen a lot and hides the display. I had to force it into landscape orientation for it to actually somewhat work. I was able to query my controller but it was "painful" to watch. After I queried it, the refresh button and status bar decided to hide and then flash. I'm not sure what all is going on with it truthfully. I may play around with it later and test other apps out, but I cannot promise anything.
Re: Application for Blackberry
Screen orientation is normal with playbook it tend to migrate from vertical to horizontal orientation depending upon the type of application. Many applications of Ipad are successfully working on my playbook may be I-phone & tablet are 2 different things.Try it on latest OS 2.0 version. Right now i am also accessing this site thru my playbook only.binder wrote:I just tested things out on the Playbook simulator and it's not working well at all. Any progress curt?
Re: Application for Blackberry
Honestly I have not had a chance to look into it lately. I haven't been in front of my computer much in the last week. It is on my TODO list, but finding the time lately for all my projects and working 50+ hours a week as a doctor kinda limits my time.abhi_123 wrote:Any progress curt?

The source for the Android app is available on your github correct? So theoretically anyone should be able download it and load it into the Blackberry SDK and work on it from there?
Any volunteers?
Re: Application for Blackberry
I have already tried that without any success.wolfador wrote:binder wrote:Honestly I have not had a chance to look into it lately. I haven't been in front of my computer much in the last week. Re: Application for Blackberry
Just for an info. A newest version of Blackberry Os has been launched by Rim For playbook which enables many applications of android to be used on it.

Re: Application for Blackberry
Time to dust off this thread. Well, RIM is no longer around but BlackBerry is here to stay. For anyone with or migrating to a BB10 device I will be writing a native Cascades application shortly. I cannot commit to a date but I have run BlackBerry exclusively for the over a decade now, switching to BB10 before most, and I promise I will bring this app to BlackBerry World!

Feel free to use my Android App as a guideline for communicating with the controller and portal.
Re: Application for Blackberry
Thanks Curt. Are you open source (not terribly familiar with your app or android)? I can digest code about an order of magnitude faster than documentation
Re: Application for Blackberry
yep, certainly am. the android app is written in Java. the source is available in my github account.voidg wrote:Thanks Curt. Are you open source (not terribly familiar with your app or android)? I can digest code about an order of magnitude faster than documentation
