Considering to buy 1 RA+

Post by jason »

Hi all,

I am currntly in the conversion from FW to a micro reef tank, looks like a JBJ 29, but modded.Rim less and overflow, no more built in sump.

So, what I am looking for is:

1 ATO (from a pressurzed container fed by the RO and 220v solenoid valve already in use with a home made ATO)
2 Dimmable lights, separate blues and whites FanLess (RapidLed 24led kit including 2 Mean Well dim drivers)
3 Temperature control (heater or cooling fans)
4 Return pump in sump safety dry running and ability to stop it when doing maintenance
5 Skimmer pump safety dry running and ability to stop it when doing maintenance
6 Dosing pumps for Alk and liquid reef food (already have 6 them basic 12v motors)
7 maybe a float switch for the Skimmate bucket collector that will stop the skimmer and generate an alarm

No need for controling other pumps as I plan to get a Vortech with it's controller (maybe 2 with WiFi)
For PH I prefer relying on drop tests as I had some bad experiences with low cost probes drifting and being very sensible to stray currents in the tank/sump

I know the Arduino, I have been a 1st time user when it came out some 5 years ago and even monitored my tank through internet with an ethernet shield from Adafruit and a 2x16 lcd.
But now I do not have too much time to DIY stuff as my work load has increased.

I considerd getting an Aquatronica, but it's waaaaay tooooooo  expensive and not so "DIY upgradable"
And the RA seems to meet all my requirements :D

I'm sorry I missed this post the first time around.
Everyone here can confirm that I'm pretty responsive on posting answers to questions, but for some reason this one slipped by.
Anyway, you can do all that with the Reef Angel controller.
Your requirements are very easy to accomplish.

There is no delay on the shipping.
I have them in stock now.
The package gets there in 3 to 5 days and then it all depends on the customs of your country.
