Help Setup with mac
I keep getting "Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file" any help would be greatly appreciated. Followed the instructions and deleted everything and tried it again with the same problem. Thanks in advance.
Re: Help Setup with mac
Did you download the RA installer from the website?
When do you get this error message?

Re: Help Setup with mac
I followed the directions straight out of the manual. Downloaded the RA installer. dragged the wifi and anduino to applications. installed ftdiusbserialdriver and reset. Powered up the controller connected the usb my computer and to the RA controller all the way to the right with the two pins exposed to the left like shown in the manual. Im at a loss let me know if anything comes to mind. Thanks in advance, Brian

Re: Help Setup with mac
I get the error message when I try to open anduino. The error message pops up and then just gives me the option to quit. Is there any way to check to make sure the USB software is working? maybe it is not working due to not seeing the RA. Thanks in advance, Brian
Re: Help Setup with mac
That's PPC, right? Prior to Lion?
I haven't tested it on that version to be honest.
Can you download the original release from Arduino?

If it works, we will work around the differences.

Re: Help Setup with mac
not sure what PPC means and it is prior to lion. I tried to download the most current arduino with no luck. same error "Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file"
Re: Help Setup with mac
PPC= PowerPC processor.
Mac used to have their own processor before they shifted to using Intel processor.
I think you need at least Lion, which I think is 10.6

Re: Help Setup with mac
I ordered snow leopard (10.6) Hopefully it will work after the upgrade. will keep you guys posted. I tried turning the Java on with same error. I am assuming the 10.6 will solve the problems hopefully.
Re: Help Setup with mac
I can confirm that snow leopard works. I have a mac mini running 10.6.8 and I just went through the installation exactly like you said it it worked just fine for me. Downloaded the installer, installed arduino and wifi utility, installed the ftdi drivers, restarted computer, launched arduino and it works. I even tried having it plugged into my controller while launching arduino and it still works.sevenhillsreefer wrote:I ordered snow leopard (10.6) Hopefully it will work after the upgrade. will keep you guys posted.
