Wifi issue

Post by pilonstar »

Hi Folks:

I have found today my wifi attachment blinking blue and without connection at all.
Perhaps my modem just rejected the connection but what I did with out success was:

- Restore to factory settings (blue light and green still blinking)
- Update Firmware with no success either:

Updating firmware requires the Reef Angel Wifi Attachment to be connected to your wifi network and be able to access the internet.

If you have the blue LED blinking, it means that your Reef Angel Wifi Attachment is still not connected to your wifi network.

The manufacturer changed servers and that's why the wifi utility is failing to download the updated firmware.
I need to update that utility.
Can you use Dave's for now?

I tried to run Dave's wifi tool but it gave me a .net error. I'm not familiar with windows anymore. What should I do?

I think you need .net 4.0 to run that application.

Got it but doesn't work:

CMD

FTP timeout=3
ftp u

Yes, the manufacturer keeps changing the ip address.
The latest one is 198.175.253.161
So, you need to send:
set f a 198.175.253.161
Roberto.

<2.32> FTP connecting to 198.175.253.161
FTP file=65

FTP OK.
UPDATE OK

ver

WiFly Ver 2.36, 08-25-2012 on RN-131
<2.36>

What should I do now?

I did:
- factory RESET
- reboot

Dave's utility connect at 9600
- apply basic settings
Dave's utility connect 57600
- apply my wifi settings
- apply reefangel.com config

Now, my router's utility identifies it as WiFly-GSX not as reefAngel WiFI
Does it matter? How do I change the module's wifi's name?

Since I updated the fw and installed the WiFi antenna, the reception and connection improved. But, once in a while, I'm can't access the controller from my iphone or pc but this time the module is blinking green not blue as before. To fix this issue, I have to unplug the wifi module for 1 sec. How to fix it for good?

I don't know if it's coincidence or not, after dloading the latest RA libraries I'm experiencing huge wifi issues. I have to disconnect the wifi adapter every few minutes ir order to make it work. Any idea what could be the problem?
