How long of a USB extension cord can I use?
I tried to look this up and couldn't find any answers.

how ever long you need I run a 8 foot usb on mine no problems. Albeit i only use it when programing the controller

Are you talking about the programming cable?
I use a 15ft cord, but I only connect when programming too. I see no problems with leaving it connected if you want.
I did however see that when you go far on USB, it is always best to use an active USB extension cable, instead of the plain extension.
