followed all directions get to the last step to upload and the controller blinks the red light,,, my computer screen says its done uploading but my ra screen is totally blank.... even if i unplug it and replug it in the screen is blank

any ideas or perhaps i have a bad unit?

Did it ask you to update your libraries?
You need to use the latest one, which is 1.0.3.
You can check it at Tools->Reef Angel Libraries.

have the same problem but i do not see a library update button. How do I update the library?

It's a daily check.
Which OS are you running?
Did you just install?

Mac 10.7.5, yes just installed and cancelled on the update because it looked like it hung up at 30%, thought I would be able to do a manual update.

To force update, you need to modify the Arduino preferences fine.
http://arduino.cc/en/Hacking/Preferences
use this:

This will trick Arduino into thinking that it's been more than a day that you checked for updates.
Or, you can just wait 24hrs.
