Busy COM port

Post by wolf8895 »

I was trying to upload some new code last night and kept getting an error that the COM port was busy. Has anyone else ever run into this? If so, how did you fix it?

I've tried rebooting both the laptop and the RA. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the USB serial converter. Do I just need to reinstall the RA installer?

Do you have the Reef Angel Client software installed in your computer?

I do have the client suite installed. I'm pretty sure I killed that but I can uninstall it and try that later on tonight.

Thanks

The Client is installed as a service. That's how it can keep pulling data from your controller and it uses the same port that you upload codes.
So, if you want to use the port, you need to stop the service and restart after you upload your code to restore functionality of the Client.
You can do this in the Services Dashboard that is installed along with the Client.
