That's basically the work I had done with the old RF module.

Ah yes, BLE. That is the trend, though I dislike it, connections are horrible.
Incidentally, I have a couple of vortechs to play with. I have one w/ the old original green RF chip and one with the Mobius chip. I downgraded the drivers on the Mobius one and was able to connect it to the Reeflink. I had thought we had to replace the Mobius chip w/ the old green chip to do that but that is not the case. Apparently the Mobius chips have both BT and wifi capabilities. I have not made it a slave and connected it to the RA yet though.
