Post by reefcycle »

No, you should be able to extend pretty far.

Float switches don't have %. They are either on or off. It's a magnetic switch. When the float goes up, it closes contact. That's it. All we are looking for is closing contact. If there is a short anywhere, it would bypass the float all together, since it would always see the float as being closed.

Hi, didn't want to make a new post so I'll post in here, sorry to thread-jack. I wired my float switches to the connectors and plugged them into the correct ports. My low switch didn't work, so I tried pulling the connector out (so i could check my soldering) with a pair of needle nose pliers, and they slipped and pulled a wire out of the connector.

I noticed there's a metal tab on the connector that seems to be catching on the plastic with the purpose of holding the metal piece and wire crimp in the connector. I can push the metal tab down with a sewing needle, but I cant pull the metal crimp piece out of the connector when the tab is pushed in. Is it removable? Or do i need to buy a new connector wire?

Thanks for any help with my silly question.

Did you try the needle from the inside out?
