What kind of computer are you using? Pc or Mac? Have you downloaded the software from the Reefangel site?

Re: New RA Setup Assistance
Check the download section for the manual. Pay close attention to the section "Loading your Initial Memory Settings". You have to do this or nothing else will work.

Re: New RA Setup Assistance
In reviewing the RA Manual, can I skip the initial part about connecting the ph and temp probe, powering up the RA, and cycling through the menus with the joystick? Can I just go directly to connecting the RA to my computer, loading in the memory, and then getting right into the Wizard to generate my custom code?
Then after I load in the custom code, I can start in with getting the WiFi running??

Yes, TRENDNet Cloud View. It's feature poor, but works.

Re: New RA Setup Assistance
One of the things that I did when first starting was to go a little slower than you might like, but studied and implemented one thing at a time. That way I was sure what was causing a problem when things started not working like I expected. So to say:
1. Unpack and inspect
2. Power it up, load the initial memory settings as advised
3. Bring up one thing, a pump, a light, a temp probe, anything
4. Sit back, be proud, take a bow
5. Do another
6. repeat

I'm up and running with WiFi. So far so good.
Now I would like to know how to name my temperature probes so that on the RA display, portal, and droid app they say tank and room instead of T1 and T2. Also want to do the same thing to name my ports.

The portal is easy. Just open up the portal and go to "labels". You can re-name everything there.kirkwood wrote:I'm up and running with WiFi. So far so good.

On the android app, it's under Settings, Controller Information, Labels. Or you can just hit "Download" from the Controller Information menu to download all your labels from the portal.
On the RA screen, it's more involved. Start here:

Hope this helps.
