Re: Reading Energy Use
Apex has it on each outlet of the relay. It would be nice to incorporate that same feature. For the rest of us total amps would be easier. Even with total amps our loads are pretty constant. You would be able to tell when a heater comes on or if something is amiss by a simple trend graph like web c...

Re: Reading Energy Use
Ahh so it needs to be integrated then inside the relay box or stripping your power plug (no thanks) :) Roberto what do you say? Next gen relay box? Yes. But you could get a weather proof box and cover. And make your taps in there with the proper wire connectors. Would be no worse than the taps behi...

Re: Reading Energy Use
So it sounds like this is something we can hook to the IO board and then clamp around the incoming power to the relay box and measure overall power? Or to individual outlets..? Either or both. But remember it can only go around 1 wire, the hot. If you run a hot and neutral through it the flux will ...

Re: Reading Energy Use
Whats a CT? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2 A CT is a coil of wire around an iron bar that detects magnetic flux and converts to amps. Let me see if I can find an example. Lol I found a whole article on how to use one on an arduino http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/buildingblocks/ct-sensors-...

Re: Reading Energy Use
We could probably do something where we log the amount of time a port is on and track it based on a set wattage or something :) It wouldn't be actual usage, but it could be good if we wanted to get some idea the amount of power being used... Could we not use a CT on the power wire with the proper c...

Re: Jabeo controller help
You gotta have so many post to pm. Lpf=low pass filter. It will smoothen the pwm signal to a closer to linear one. Requires a resistor and capacitor.

You could build one out of an arduino. But some soldering and coding may/would be acquired.

Re: Is the ReefAngel the right controler for me ?
OK what about this for power detection. Use a ups on your reef angel. Wire a relay to make/break the high ato pin. Said relay would need to be plugged into normal non ups power. Then just set a highato flag in the app.

Now I didn't read through the whole thread but I know my RA app doesn't work on ios7 and that help is needed there. Yes the controller goes away. But the jebao uses 0-5v. The ra is 0-10v the cable has a voltage divider built in. But if your handy with a soldering iron you can make one.

Minor glitch?
OK so I built menu to select how my jebao pump runs. Works good. But the minor glitch I have, is that to get the menu to function, The line ReefAngel.PCPump.SetMode... Had to be taken out of void loop. Now if I lose power for whatever reason the pumps do not run until a menu selection is chosen. Cou...
