Using Android Tablet for Dedicated UAPP Interface.
I'm using an android tablet for a permanent interface using the UAPP. I chose the 10" Lenovo Tab4 but most tablets are probably compatible with this setup. Reason I went with this tablet was screen size and a more current android version than most budget tablets. To make this work the way I wan...

Re: Universal App
My wife got me a 10 inch tablet to use as the main interface for the controller. Would it be a lot of trouble to do some formatting changes to the UAPP? It would be nice if the Relays were tiled instead of vertical. I think you could go 3 wide and it would make it so you wouldn't have to scroll to s...

Thanks, the ORP module is connected and actually working.
I put the terminator back on and its reading. I think the new probe is faulty.

Well... it worked for a week. I guess I need to get a new module.
How do you use the i2c scanner with the star controller?
Is there anything that can be done to troubleshoot it?

Re: Help with ORP
Nevermind... Just like my Expansion Hub, I decided that even though there was no corrosion or visible ingress to wash the circuit board in rubbing alcohol with a toothbrush. Dried on top of a HVAC vent. Works just fine now... :? Whatever works I guess  I need to get some ORP calibration solutio...

Help with ORP
Trying to bring my ORP expansion back online. When I first plugged it in everything seemed to be working (not 0) but the probe was jacked up so I ordered a replacement. I had to go out of state and just left the jacked up probe and the ORP module operating. Now that I am home ORP is reading 0. I ass...

Re: Expansion hub causing buslock
New cable didn't help so I pulled the Expansion Hub apart. I checked resistance of all the resistors, they were all comparable. It looked clean and without corrosion. I washed it down with 90% rubbing alcohol an tossed it onto a furnace vent to dry it out. So far so good! At this point I can only as...

Expansion hub causing buslock
I have an expansion hub from the early days. It worked when I put it away 5 years ago but now all I get are intermittent bus locks when I use it. Are there any firmware or code updates I would need to do to make this expansion hub function with the star? I've tried it with and without the 5v power s...

Re: 600Gal + Much More: Final Round
For my size tank a calcium reactor is overkill (65g) I think this entire hobby is overkill. My Coral/Invert QT which is a RSM 130D (34gal) has a full blown Masterflex CaRx setup I used to have to test and dose that tank daily but now can go months without making adjustments to the reactor. It may b...

Re: 600Gal + Much More: Final Round
I second the Ubiquity option. I got tired of the crappy consumer wifi options as well. I run the original UAP (wifi bgn) for my wifi that my RA connects to and I run a UAP Pro at home. I have Cat 6 hardwire everywhere as well. I haven't made the plunge to AC version... trying to let all the standar...

Thanks! I have a Ubiquiti Unifi network setup and wired the house with Cat6. Thing is absolutely rock solid, wifi uptime is currently 163 days without a hiccup :). I was able to hardwire the single access point into the ceiling right in the middle of the house (2800sf tri-level split). The lowest an...

Building High Power Relay Box in other Room
I'd like to get started on my relay box for the lighting on my 600gal reef. Just want to run it buy you guys first before I start picking up parts. I still have one so hopefully it will work. Since I already have a plus I may use it to develop my new setup and switch over to the Star once I am ready and confident I have it all working. At that point I can just use the Plus for the display to control the lighting and the vortechs. I like the id...

Re: 600Gal + Much More: Final Round
Looks like going beyond 6 temp probes will require a fair amount of coding to the libraries. Until we can work through that I'll use 6 probes to just monitor as well as be a safety to my BTA propagation system. I'll continue to bring modules online. Currently I am trying to get the 6 probes to displ...

Thanks.
I believe you can use more than 6 but that code gives you 6 on the display and portal. I need 11 minimum.

Temp Probe Expansion Module (DIY)

I ordered one of these, will try to modify it to work. Hopefully it doesn't have too much circuitry. If I am able to turn this hub into just a passive hub what type of resistor should I us...

Good luck, hope you are QTing them. Tangs and Butterflies are tough with disease. Butterflys in general are really hard to get to eat so if it doesn't gobble up mysis in a few days you may need to start with live food.
