Re: salinity error?
well found a small stray voltage 0.3VAC its only on the one side of the power strip and only between the common, the potential isint there with the safety ground blah! guess its time to go shutting everything down one at a time to see what it is.. or get a grounding probe.

Re: salinity error?
roberto i am not measuring any stray voltage in the tank at all, only other source i can think of is the ballasts for my light and the ph unit are kinda near eachother, I am going to try and move them to opposit sides of the tank and see what happens.

Re: salinity error?
yes but dosing the calcium and alkalinity salts was causing the reading to swing untill they dispersed through the tank, the dosing pumps and the probes are in the same area of the sump. Or do you think its electrical interference/noise? Dont have a scope here, its packed somewhere in my storage uni...

Re: salinity error?
Roberto,
did as you requested this morning, Calibrated and it did display the 35ppt this morning, probe is in a mason jar half full of tank water. Can you see the graph info from the portal or would you like me to post the reading info?

so like float the vial of calibration solution in the tank while doing the calibration? ReefAngel.LCD.DrawText(0,255,43,48,"Salinity"); ConvertNumToString(text, ReefAngel.Params.Salinity, 100); ReefAngel.LCD.DrawLargeText(COLOR_LIMEGREEN, 255, 49, 58, text, Num8x8); pingSerial();

Re: salinity error?
ok 2 fold, salinity displays on my head units as 2.17ppt instead of 27.1ppt, also, according to my refractometer my salinity is closer to 31ppt than the 27 its reading, should i try to recalibrate, or can i tweak the setting manually?

We do ultrasonic welding of plastic at work, just a chisel a vice and a smack of the hammer and you can pop anything open pretty cleanly.

Re: programming reference?
yeah, i was looking at the teensyduino IDE for it, there are still some issues with bitwise operators (mainly shift) from going from the 8 bit to 32 bit, need to sit down with some proto hardware and try and build one. I'm thinking design a high end RA head unit with 32bit arm M4, built in wireless ...

Re: programming reference?
Thanks Curt, if you are in northern indiana I owe you a beer. What memory locations are used for duration and start time? Is there a memory map somewhere or is the best thing to use for that the memory sketch? If I ever get more free time at work I wanna play with trying to get the RA libraries to c...

Re: turning vortechs off during feeding
will investigate that thanks.
edit: reading the manual it says you can power off master/slave chain by holding power off button.. guess i need to crack open an eco smart and then look at the rf schematic to figure that one out.

programming reference?
Is there a programming reference somewhere that lists the function prototype calls and what they pass in and return? I know I can dig through the C code and pull them out that way but it seems like that would be something that should exist somewhere.

turning vortechs off during feeding
is there a way to turn the vortechs off during feeding mode using the rf module? I know i can just plug them into the relay box, but was hoping to not have to use relays for them. The feeding mode is still too much flow for most of my lps to grab food, actually it would be great to have 2 feeding mo...
