In lieu of current events. I hereby award, Curt Binder the prestigious award of Client Suite Support Specialist for actions taken above and beyond the call of duty and extreme valor in the face of adversity. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/jynxxxed/Aquarium/ReefAngel/supportbadge.jpg Congratu...

Re: Feed Mode 2.2 Client
I've kicked around the idea of timed profiles a lot. It makes sense to have the feature available, and it won't be hard to implement, yet I'm still hesitant. The profiles apply permanent on/off masks to the outlets so they no longer respond to the inputs and timers on the controller. The masks must ...

Re: Feed Mode 2.2 Client
You will have to create your own Feed Mode Profile in the Client. There isn't one built in because everyone's setup can be so different.

Re: Client 2.2 - New install issues
Hey aranax, None of the services you disabled will likely cause issues with the Suite application. The issue is you're most likely missing the required .NET frameworks on your new XP installation. You will need .NET framework 3.5 SP1 for the Logger service. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959209) T...

Re: 2.2 Load Memory File
I haven't used 2.2 yet, but from talking with Dave about some of the features, I think this has to do with a memory map file. You have the ability to change the memory locations around IF I ever changed them on the controller. This would ensure that the client would write the values to the proper s...

Re: 2.2 Observation
Not sure what happened with the interface there, but glad you got it working again. Did you see the 2:00 reconnect timer counting down on the bottom status bar? That's one of the nice things about having the Listener/Logger as Windows services. If you leave them on automatic - then as soon as you co...

Re: 2.2 Question
I haven't looked at the PWMSlope function too carefully, so not entirely sure what's going on with it. It could be that the function is overwriting what you're attempting to set through the Client.

Re: Client Suite 2.2
The memory tab won't change based on the number of lights you have. It's designed around the standard memory locations the dev libraries use. That is, one STD Lights and on MH. You could always use the MH memory locations for another set of T5's and set the delay to 0 which is what I do to control m...

Oh.. Oh Myrimai wrote:He's not a normal user. He uses a programmer instead of bootloader, which erases memory everytime he uploads a new code
So I guess the read didn't fail - it just returned nothing back or whatever the defaults are. I'll work in some additional checks for setting memory.

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Curt uses different memory locations with his dev libraries, than what the Standard ones use. Unless you manually wiped out the memory values, everything should work okay. That's the biggest advantage to using the client app - you upload Curt's memory sketch only once, and then can swap around the R...

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Thanks for the heads up, Bryan. Ideally, when you push the Refresh button - all those input fields should be populated with the correct data from the controller. In your screenshot it looks like they're all blank/defaulted to nothing. This shouldn't be the case. The save button should not let you sa...

Inside Documents/arduino/libraries/reefangel_features open the features.h file and make sure the line #define wifi is not commented out with double slashes. If so, remove the double slashes, recompile and upload. You might have to comment out some of the other features to shrink the compile size sin...

Re: Client Suite 2.2 Connectivity
Bryan, it's been awhile since I tested it but there is an internal timer inside the Listener service. So long as the service is running it should attempt to make a connection with the information you provide. If it cannot, the countdown begins and tries again once it hits zero. This will happen inde...

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Hey Dave, I don't know how elaborate your installer creator software you are using, but you could setup something similar to what the Reef Angel Installer does to find out which port and if there is a controller found and also check whether define wifi is being used. If you can't do it on the insta...

I think that's for the sending your temps/ph/relay information to reefangel.com directly from the controller/wifi adapter. It shouldn't matter really, you can send the info from the controller or the client

Re: Client Suite 2.2
That's your best bet.. Download a fresh copy of the 0.8.5.16 libraries. Use them to replace all the existing ones you have. Enable nothing but wifi in the features file. Make sure you can browse those url's we talked about earlier. You should be fine after that

Re: Client Suite 2.2
It should look something like:
arduino-0022/libraries/ReefAngel_Features
Inside that folder is one file - ReefAngel_Features.h
^^ That's the file that should be modified.. Any other files or folders inside the ReefAngel_Features folder, delete.

Re: Client Suite 2.2
I don't know, man. When I use the 0.8.5.16 libraries with the same features file as you and a very simple sketch - I get a sketch too big error. 32124 bytes. When I use your sketch file - it compiles even larger 32700 bytes. That's the reason I think the features file isn't being used for whatever r...

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Something tells me that Features file isn't being used.
Just by looking at the number of features you're trying to use, you should probably be seeing errors saying sketch size too large. Are you sure this is the /libraries folder that is being used by arduino?

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Yup, totally normal to run out of space quickly. #define wifi takes up a very large chunk of memory. #define DateTimeSetup is a memory thief as well - Only used once then never again (Except for DST - curt might have fixed this though to auto update) #define VersionMenu is kind of useless I personal...

Re: Client Suite 2.2
I think you're uncommenting more than you need to.
Just remove the double slashes (//) not the slash *'s (/* or */)
Edit:
Also you might be trying to get too much done at once.. Best way to tackle the ReefAngel is one feature at a time.. Once you get it working move on to the next.

The Client doesn't update immediately.. It can take up to 15 seconds or so before you see values on the main screen (Temp/pH). If you are seeing correct memory values... and all the fields on the Memory tab are filled in with the right information I think you're there... If there's blank fields and ...

bmhair, so you're not seeing any kind of response on the Client screen?? Does the temperature and pH at least display? It kind of looks like you're seeing the errors when you're attempting to read/write memory functions.. And then the last one was the Client unable to connect to the Listener. What v...
